I absolutely have not done this right but is it actually worth doing the proper way because it seems like SUCH a process 🥲

A lot of people have asked what I used so I thought I’d do another video just to detail to all!

So firstly, the original bannister was white gloss. I sanded it lightly to get rid of the shine and then painted one coat of the crème de la crème in the lazy range. It’s a cream colour which I think just adds to the warmth of the wood look. I believe you can do other colours underneath, the effect will just be different.

Then once that dried (about an hour) I went in with a layer of the browning wax. Again as far as I’m aware it only comes in one shade. You can layer it up to create a darker wood effect too. I used some basic “wax brushes” off Amazon or I know Frenchic have their own ones too but I got a 3 pack of different sizes for about £10 and they were great!

As it stands I havnt sealed it with anything but I’ve heard some say it doesn’t last in high traffic areas so I might research and find something. However I don’t want it to be shiny. Any recommendations on that are so welcome! I hope this answers any questions anyone had and if not please feel free to ask!

I will always arrive at a photoshoot atleast an hour - 90 minutes early so that I have plenty of time to plan and assess the lighting etc. I do this even if I’ve been to the location multiple times because the same place can look so different depending on the weather that day. I had so much fun planning this shoot and even more fun photographing it so if you want to see some behind the scenes from it stay tuned 🤪 also side note but Antrim Castle gardens is the most stunning location?? Defo have overlooked it before!
