What a Display that was Kintore an amazing night and turn out, my first Kintore fireworks display.

The colours really come out in these images, most were shot at about 5-10 second exposures catching all the movement in the fireworks 🎇 💥 🎆

I was leaning against the railings on the steps and it was still tricky to hold perfectly still.

Woke at 5am this morning and peeked out the curtains to see a beautiful sky, jumped out of bed (really quietly) 🤫 and hit the beach, not much of a sunrise but tried some different angles and a slower shutter speed to soften the waves and this is one of the results 🙌

The Kestrel,
Beautiful small bird of prey from the Falcon family.
How's this for interesting fact,
This species is able to see near ultraviolet light, allowing the birds to detect the urine trails around rodent burrows as they shine in an ultraviolet colour in the sunlight.
Not bad evolution that.

…The Punch Bowl…

A trip to Linn of Quoich with Mrs M, walked up the left side of the river then crossed over and headed back on the other side, peoples forgot to mention that half the path was washed away and there is a river where it used to be, certainly made for some interesting hiking.

I took this shot of the punch bowl with my I Phone 12 pro max with live switched on, after I took the picture I set it to long exposure to get the water smoothing effect.
I finished it in lightroom and it shows just what phones are capable of.

I would normally have to carry my camera equipment, tripod, filters and a fair bit of setting up to achieve a very similar result.

The IPhone uses software to achieve this result but in my opinion it does an excellent job.

Don’t worry camera peeps, we all know phones will never take over proper cameras 🤔

…Guardian of the Falls…
Stopped in by the Falls of Feugh on my way out to braemar, clocked this guy patiently waiting for his lunch, he would have to be quick as the water was coming down under the bridge at some pace, I guess due to the sudden loss of all the snow in Deeside and the rain.

…Glencoe falls…

Also known as the meeting of the 3 waters, after realising how to finally get down there I had to climb back up a dodgy wet rock slope to grab this shot, a beautiful autumn day in Glencoe, 1 minute blue skies the next misty scenes and I mean every minute 😆

…Curlew…

Easily spotted due to its extra long beak, I guess used to hurry into the sand to get access to food.

This one one was in mid call and quite the noise it made too.
