Sibling shoot but make it no bad shots

This trip has mainly been shot on just two cameras… a Polaroid and a little point and shoot. My phone has mostly been for videos, and my professional camera has barely left the bag.

The positives ❤️
They’ve made me slow down. Instead of photographing everything, I actually stop and think, “Is this the moment?” I take the photo, put the camera away, and get back to enjoying where we are. I love coming home with real printed memories, and this Polaroid has a self timer too, which has been amazing for family photos and selfies without asking anyone else.

The downsides 👀
It’s definitely not the cheapest way to shoot. A roll of Portra 400 is around £16 for 36 exposures, plus about £10 to get it developed. Polaroid film works out at roughly 70p a photo, and the camera itself is a bit bulky to carry to the beach or on hikes.

Still… I absolutely love it. I think it’s made me more present and more intentional about the memories I choose to keep.

I didn’t realise how much community could change everything.

Things really started to change when I met Angela then Andrew. Before long I was lucky enough to meet so many incredible creatives from across the UK, Europe and the US.
Suddenly I wasn’t doing it all on my own anymore.
I found people I could spend hours talking to, travel with, laugh with and learn from. People who genuinely wanted to see each other succeed.
They’ve given me the confidence to keep reaching out, keep saying yes to opportunities and keep building genuine friendships wherever I go.

It’s amazing what happens when you find your tribe. 🤍
