While the humans got ready, we practised on the pooch. Great fun chasing the dog around the garden with a soft box last summer. When photographing animals, just like children, you just have to roll with it and see where it takes you. 😂

Seriously though, should I pivot to pet photography?! Surprised at how well these came out. 👌🏻

The Rollinson family. A small set of family portraits taken last summer.

Here I experimented with some off-camera flash in the summer sun to try and preserve colour and detail in the sky while keeping the subjects sufficiently lit in the garden shade.

Camera: Canon R6 + Canon 85mm 1.4 L
Light: Godox AD300 Pro + Godox S65T soft box
Light stand: One very patient girlfriend 😅
