A midsummer Assynt eve…
The same vista through the short night - watching the light fade to a soft glow before an early rise again.

Cairngorm dusks and dawns
Had an enjoyable commission to film some scenes up on the cairngorm plateau recently so when the weather invited me I accepted and took my tent and coffee pot.
As central and elevated as it is - it’s very easy to see Ben Nevis to the west, and to the north even Ben Hope on a good day, Scotlands most northerly Munro 100 odd miles away!

A well needed mountain reset in Torridon, with one of the best camp spots (not if you sleep walk).
Managed to sneak in a couple of summit camps in some glorious spring high pressure, no wind AND no midge conditions.
It was so peaceful and still even on top of the mighty Liatach - that the only sound I could hear was Cuckoo 1100m beneath me heralding their return.

Boreray Might
Chuffed that this (first) image has been been Highly Commended in The British WildLife Photography Awards 2026 in the Wildlife Habitat category. The vital habitat of course of Gannets - the world’s largest colony with over 59,000 breeding pairs.
An oldie but a goodie, this is one of my favourite images from one of my favourite places - St.Kilda.
Humbled to be recognised alongside so many incredible images, celebrating wildlife and nature of the UK (as depleted as it is).
Congrats to all involved.
Check out the site and enjoy!

- 42km run over two munros
- Gazillions of Scotland ravenous midge

All amidst the most epic surroundings of the wild north west of Scotland.
Was incredible to witness and photograph these mad bastards taking it on!

Spring Sun ☀️
This time of year always reminds me of this snoozy wee fella having a post snack nap in the old Rowan tree in our garden.
“Feeling the first glimpses of warmth in the suns rays even when the air is still fresh. It’s a revitalising, almost primal feeling after a long dark winter” said the squirrel.
