It was such a lovely experience to return to The Plough Inn for Jen and Siobhan's Open Mic.

From the moment I opened the door, I was greeted with such warmth, and it immediately felt like a very special evening to be part of.

It was wonderful to see Siobhan and Jen again, and to witness such touching and emotional performances from everyone who stepped up to sing and play. The atmosphere in the room was full of kindness, support, and genuine connection.

I’m hoping to be around more often again, visiting these spaces, seeing old friends, musicians, artists, and the people who make these evenings feel so meaningful.

A beautiful evening, with beautiful people, and I’m very grateful to have been there.

Fantastic news to see Thunder in the Glens® returning in 2027 with a new Highland home in Kingussie.

I had the pleasure of photographing the event before, and there is nothing quite like the atmosphere - the sound of the bikes, the people, the community, and the Highlands all coming together.

It will be exciting to see this new chapter take shape.

Thunder in the Glens® Returns for 2027 with New Highland Home in Kingussie

Friday 27th to Monday 30th August 2027

Dunedin Chapter Scotland is delighted to announce that Thunder in the Glens® will return in 2027, following a planned one-year pause in 2026, with a fresh new format and a new Highland home in Kingussie – the capital of the Highlands.

The decision to pause the event in 2026 provided an opportunity to reflect on the future of Thunder in the Glens® and ensure the rally could return in a way that protects what has always made it special – the Harley-Davidson® community, the friendships built over decades, and the unique Highland experience riders travel to be part of.

Going back to its roots, Thunder in the Glens® 2027 will be a smaller, more intimate rally while retaining the spirit, atmosphere and warm welcome that has made it one of Europe’s best-loved Harley-Davidson® rider events.

Organised by Dunedin Chapter Scotland, part of the global H.O.G®. family, the new-look event will place an even greater emphasis on riders, community and connection, bringing Harley-Davidson® owners and enthusiasts together in the heart of the Highlands. Tickets will be released to Dunedin Chapter Scotland members first and then to the HOG community; we fully expect it sell out at that stage.

Visitors can still expect the unmistakable atmosphere that Thunder in the Glens® is known for – great entertainment, organised ride-outs, Highland hospitality, the sound of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles and the camaraderie that has defined the rally for more than two decades.

Kingussie has been selected as the rally’s new home, offering outstanding Highland riding routes, a strong local community and an ideal base for exploring some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery.

Supporting the event, Thunder in the Glens® will work in partnership with three local hotels, with accommodation packages available alongside rally ticket sales. Further information on tickets, accommodation and the rally programme will be released in due course.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share something new that I have been building alongside JT Lenscraft.

The project is called Highlands Unfiltered.

It is a documentary photo journal of Scotland, rooted in the Highlands - its people, communities, villages, culture, heritage, weather, wildlife, working places, local events, quiet roads and everyday moments.

This is not just a nature page, and it is not only about landscapes.

Scotland is often shown through mountains, lochs, castles and dramatic views. Those views matter, but the country is also alive because of the people who live here, work here, create here, gather here, protect it, remember it and call it home.

The land gives Scotland its shape.

The people give it its soul.

That is what I want Highlands Unfiltered to document.

JT Lenscraft will continue as my main photography work for events, music, people and client projects. Highlands Unfiltered is a more personal documentary space - a place for slower stories, quiet details and honest visual records of Scotland, seen from a perspective rooted in the Highlands.
