Wake up each day in a luxury country manor before exploring the ancient forests and lochs of the Scottish Cairngorms, and spend a very special day in the majestic beauty of Glencoe. We have one shared room left(2 places)!

This years retreat runs from 1st to 8th May.

We have an all new location in the very heart of Glen Tilt.

Forest Lodge is a traditional Scottish hunting lodge accessible only by an 8 mile long private track. Nestled in the glen between two mountains! You really can't get more Scottish than that!

We have a location and studio education! This year we will also be introducing some commercial shoot education.

There will be 4 location shoots. One of which will take place in the grounds of Blair Atholl castle - if you have ever wanted to shoot dogs in front of a fairytale castle this is your perfect opportunity!

You will also have the opportunity to shoot in our pop up studio in the house!

All meals and transport is included during the retreat.

Mr Ruckus will also be back for our in house model and emotional support dog for those missing their pouchies back home.

And as a special bonus this year we will be organising a shoot in Edinburgh on the evening of the 8th for anyone who wants to spend a little extra time here and photograph some dogs in the historic beautiful of Edinburgh.

Sometimes you change your perspective (angles), other times you change the environment.

For this location, we gave our students the assignment of photographing reflections, and/or action in water.

There was a dug out trench running parallel into the loch that was partially filled with water.

But no matter what angle we took during the demo, the pool of water was too small to capture Blaze’s full body. (See second image)

By taking the time to move some sand, we made the shallow pool a bit larger and were able to create the image with a full reflection.

🏰 7 nights luxury accommodation at Muckrach Country House

📷 Hands-on studio and location dog photography education

🐕 on hand all week for modelling duties, as well as our carefully selected dog models for our shoots
