When a family lets you in so openly & you end up with a 350 photo gallery…

I’m often asked how many photos are usually in a gallery for my long-form sessions (mostly by the clients that are also photographers!).

I have a minimum that I promise for every session of 150 photos (that even if your toddler is having a hard day or we had to last minute change the location and had to wing it, you will get 150 storied moments).

However, the galleries where I really can’t choose and that end up being more robust, these sessions usually have this in common;

*We collaborated on a feeling and loose plan.
*There was a beautiful mix of ‘doing’ and ‘being’.
*There was trust
*The clients focused on the beauty and connection in the moment
*There was movement and several spaces/locations/activities that we moved through.

A long-form storytelling session is a beautiful collaboration, your essence through my artist’s eyes. I’m SO grateful for the trust and the opportunity to craft your visual legacy. 🎞️

This was Jazz and her family in their new home with their new baby and the second time I’ve had the privilege of photographing their family. Photos and a snippet of their home video moments by me. 🎥

I’ve spent over a year deeply diving into cinematic storytelling and I can’t wait to create in this way with you!

✨The final scene of this couple’s session ✨
Each of my couple’s sessions follows a story-like structure, something that feels like a beginning, a middle and an end.

It isn’t scripted or tightly controlled. Together with the couple ahead of the session, we craft something that makes sense for them. And with that structure we can let it play out. A fluid dance of creative direction and documentary (how much of each depends on the session!).

I would love to create cinematic feeling couple’s sessions with you at my workshop next month 🤍 We’ll be shooting two storied concepts, each which its own scenes (which could be shared as separate stories) as well as plenty of education and insta/website insight.

The workshop will be on Sunday 7th September in South Devon, DM to book 🎞️

You can join for either day, focusing on family or couples photography or spend the whole weekend deep-diving into the world of cinematic photography.

* Day ticket £375, both days £600

This will include

Saturday 6th, Family Sessions

Sunday 7th, Couples sessions

- Two storytelling sessions

Lunch included, optional movie night on Friday night! Accommodation not included.

My favourite part of this day 🚂

My family sessions are unposed and unhurried, we spend the time in a way that makes sense for you.

I’ll tag along, chatting with babies when they come to see me, swapping motherhood stories and taking plenty of quiet steps back to let you just ‘be’, it’s low pressure and just like spending the afternoon with a friend (I’ve heard that more than once! 🥹🥰).

*I’ll be covering the nuances of relaxed prompting and creative directing for families in my workshop next month along with pre-session vision crafting*

The story was simple and timeless-love on the cobbled streets of Edinburgh 🏹☕️

These were taken by me during beautiful day shoot for her , it was so lovely meeting her and just such a great day! were such a delight to photograph, as I knew they would be! ✨
