Last night was the first of a series of private events we are excited to be photographing. It doesn't get more iconic than The Royal Yacht serenaded by pipes and drums! More to follow across the week!

Where do we start with this wedding day? Perhaps simply with the word love. A ceremony which spanned the full spectrum of humour to heartfelt emotion, family and friends delighted to celebrate this love story and a whole lot of party!

FAMILY MOMENTS AND MEMORIES

Between weddings, we are often asked to photograph families - our location between Gleneagles and Crieff Hydro along with the popularity of beautiful Perthshire as a holiday destination - means we are often between the two. Here are a few more from S & Y’s wedding morning The Byre at Inchyra as we begin the big edit.
The way we approach editing is exactly the same care and attention that we give to shooting on the day.
We realise there is a lot of chat about why photographers are so expensive. There is a lot more that goes on to being a photographer than simply shooting the wedding day ( although this in itself is a big endeavour!) To edit as we want to, we take full week to go through the 3- 4000 shots that we take and select the best - for example in a set of 10 shots of the same or similar moment the best shot will have eyes open best expression etc. The gallery is then hand edited, never batch. This perhaps stems from Brian‘s classical training ( originally dark room) and it means we don’t shoot hundreds of weddings across the year. We focus on the weddings that are best fit for our style and couples who love what we do. The wedding gallery is then presented in an individually made sustainable wooden box with flora gathered at the venue and dried during the editing process. This makes each box unique and a true record of another element of your wedding day. We really appreciate and take great care of every couple who puts their trust in us.

After spending time with these two on their recent pre wedding shoot, we knew that their actual wedding day was going to be nothing short of epic. And it was.
We think that the perfect wedding day is one that truly reflects the couple's relationship. So we had tears (happy ones), a heck of a lot of laughs, beautiful music, elegant styling, dancing, a huge party atmosphere, hugs, kisses and tequila!
Yhana & Sara we had the absolute best day with you and your families. Thank you for having us along and trusting us with your day. It's a wedding that we will talk about for years to come for all the right reasons!

WEDDINGS ON 35mm FILM

Our background as photographers was honed from our relative degrees - Brian’s was the original darkroom degree training with years of working in a professional darkroom for the Scottish Office and Paula’s from art school and shooting on film. It’s an art that brings a depth and artistry to the craft. Digital is great but have you ever experienced the thrill of shooting a limited number, really thinking about each shot, composing carefully and then having to wait instead of seeing it on a screen?
Why have a film option for your wedding? The shots have a unique quality different from digital. They have softness, a richness and depth. They also FEEL different - intimate, a story and a unique moment that can’t be replicated.

A moment for the details…
Part of the joy of photographing a wedding is taking time to place and capture the thoughtfully selected details. I love photographing flowers and I am always thrilled when it’s real flowers - the scent and beauty of these really makes a wedding.

A pre-wedding shoot is something that our couples sometimes tell us that they dread. We understand that - we are much more comfortable taking photographs than having our own photograph taken! However, after a little opportunity to wander about the beautiful grounds of your venue, by the end of the session, our couples do say the same thing. They enjoy it and it makes him feel a lot more relaxed about having their photos taken on their wedding day.
We were really spoiled for locations at the beautiful . The Gardens, the avenue of mature Apple trees, the patina on the brickwork , an unexpected little stone bench with pale pink rhododendron… it’s a magical place.
Yhana & Sara were a joy to photograph and we are really excited about their wedding day. Here are a few shots from their pre wedding shoot.
