WCA Premier Cup Final - Full-Time
Badenoch 6-0 Kinlochshiel
Badenoch have made history in the inaugural WCA Premier Cup, producing a commanding performance to overcome Kinlochshiel 6-0 and become the competition’s first-ever champions.
The final was effectively shaped in a dominant opening 40 minutes, with Badenoch establishing a four-goal advantage before the interval. Megan Ralph opened the scoring before Zoe Reid added a second, with Kirsty Deans then making her mark in emphatic fashion, netting twice to put Badenoch firmly in control.
Despite finding themselves behind, Kinlochshiel continued to create opportunities and threatened to find a way back into the contest. However, Badenoch goalkeeper Elizabeth MacGregor produced an outstanding display between the sticks, making a number of important saves to preserve her side’s advantage and keep Shiel at bay.
The second half proved a far more evenly contested affair, with Kinlochshiel showing tremendous resilience and continuing to battle for a route back into the final. Badenoch, however, remained clinical when opportunities presented themselves.
Ralph added her second of the afternoon to restore Badenoch’s momentum, before Lexi Farquhar rounded off the scoring to complete a comprehensive 6-0 victory.
It was a professional performance from Badenoch, who combined attacking quality with defensive discipline throughout to secure their place in the history of the competition.
Congratulations to Badenoch - the inaugural WCA Premier Cup Champions! 👏🏆
Commiserations to Kinlochshiel, who showed tremendous character and worked tirelessly from the first whistle to the last. 👏
