Sgurr Dhomhnuill (888m) is the highest peak on the Ardnamurchan peninsula but, luckily, falls 85 feet short of Munro status.
If it was a Munro, every man, tourist and their dog would be up it.

Solo, I saw not a soul all day. Just a couple of ravens and a small herd of deer for company. Scottish hills in Winter - great for the soul.

It’s a fantastic peak, much better than many Munro’s that I’ve done.

The view from the summit of Druim na Sgriodain (734m) above Ardgour and the ferry at Corran Narrows. Fantastic views along Loch Linnhe and down Loch Leven to the hills of Glencoe.

Days in the Highlands are starting to lengthen and hopefully with the worst of Winter weather behind us, my thoughts are turning towards the warmer months ahead.
Wherever in the world you are, I hope life’s good for you.

Hello world 😀 This page has been on the back burner for quite a long time and personally much has happened. I’m surprised this morning to see the page has somehow managed to collect >4k followers; I guess such is the appeal of the Scottish Highlands and the raw beauty that I’m fortunate to live with.

I started a new job recently and although I’ve personally avoided being absorbed into the Apple ecosystem, an iPhone came with the job. Here’s some snaps taken recently with it when there’s been a break in the weather…

A few phone snaps from around Glencoe today.
We stayed mostly dry, but that shower hung around over Ardgour for ages this afternoon, hardly moving in the light wind.

Looking through some photo's this evening. September Sunsets...
All shot on a Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone.

Many thanks to all the new followers that have joined this site recently.

In these strange, surreal times, wherever in the world you are, I hope you and yours are remaining healthy. Stay safe, Andy.

Photography has taken a back seat in my life in recent times, while my wife and I have been busy renovating our home and setting up the B&B business Pier House, Glencoe. Looking through my camera images this evening, today's images are in fact the first that I've shot on my Nikon since Christmas Day!
The weather in the Highlands today was just awesome, the light this morning seemed just too good to miss and so I broke away from DIY around the house to spend 30 minutes down on the small gravel beach next to the old pier...

I hope this post finds you, your friends and family well and that the view of Loch Leven brings a little light into these uncertain times. Stay safe, stay healthy. All the best, Andy
