Pouring with rain? No problem. There's IP53 weather sealing on OM System cameras. My camera once fell into a river. I plucked it out, dried it off and carried on shooting. So, in comparison, this week's downpour while running a workshop on the Farne Islands was no big deal. Have a great weekend!

Two things: firstly, there are some enormous discounts on OM System cameras and lenses if you know where to look. (Advice is free from me.) Get in touch, and I'll point you in the right direction. Also, the season is rushing by, and I am inundated with requests for wildlife photography workshops and trips out to the Farne Islands/.

Just a on a stick , but stonechats are beautiful little things. Captured this stormy afternoon. I was just sitting still in the strong winds and waiting to see what would turn up.

One of the great things about going out with a camera is that someone always stops to talk. If it's dawn, then they always catch me just as the sun is appearing above the horizon. With wildlife, they usually come blundering over after I have been sitting there waiting for an hour, and it's the last I'll see of the bird I was trying to capture. I don't mind really. Luckily, these fabulous birds are not as timid as many, and when I get down to sea levelm they will sometimes come over to say hello. Of course, a holidaymaker shouted from the pier above, "Excuse me. What kind of bird is that?" It made me remember that things we take for granted can seem strange and exotic to someone else, so it is always worth grabbing a photograph.
