Random fact about me. 🙌

Did you know a lot of my work is heavily influenced by Julia Margaret Cameron? 🤍

JMC was a Victorian photographer known for her soft focus, intimate portraits and beautifully emotional studies of women, children and literary figures. She photographed major intellectuals and artists, including people like Charles Darwin and Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Although the stories behind her photographs are very different from mine, I’ve always been drawn to the closeness of her subjects, the way they lean in, the way connection and emotion fill the frame.

That sense of emotion and connection is something I’m constantly inspired by in my own work. ✨

There’s something incredibly special about photographing the same family over the years. I see the subtle changes, the way children grow, the way bonds deepen, the new chapters that begin.

To be invited back again and again to capture those moments is such a privilege. These aren’t just sessions to me, they’re important chapters in your story, and I’m so grateful to be the one documenting them.

The 40% Project: Celebrating Women in Parliament.

I had the most amazing opportunity to create a portrait of for the 40% Project. Its aim is to build a national portrait series that celebrates the rise of female MPs, and highlights the diverse and influential presence of women in UK politics. At its core, it’s about women supporting women and recognising the importance of visibility and representation.

We chose Tatton Park as the setting for Esther’s portrait. It’s a place we both feel connected to and enjoy spending time in.

Being a part of this project is meaningful to me both as a photographer and as a woman. It’s a reminder of how powerful visibility can be, and how important it is to celebrate the women shaping public life today.
