I've not posted many professional jobs recently but I've been working away during May with a gorgeous family photo session on the beach, a Bamburgh Castle wedding and sunny property photos for Beach and Quiet (on the hottest day of the year!).

Tomorrow will be a 1:1 photo training morning and next week another portrait session.

Waves 🌊

Down on the coast, my eyes are always drawn to the sea and the waves. Every day is different. Sometimes angry, sometimes gentle and beautiful.

Landscape (or seascape) photography is less about the location and more about the story of each individual day and moment.

Two photos from December 2016 & September 2017. Similar but very different views from one of my favourite places to photograph in Northumberland. The Skaith is a salt marsh area half way up Embleton Bay and the Embleton Burn often spreads out into a pond just before it enters the sea.

As illustrated in these photos, The Skaith reflects the weather and seems to capture something of the atmosphere of each day in its waters. The sky is always reflected whether grey, blue or sunrise reds and any wind or rain are visible in the traces they make on the water surface. This is one place I never tire of revisiting.
