I had the most amazing experience on Thursday!
Sat at the top of Ravenscar beach in Yorkshire, my partner spotted a Roebuck in the distance. I managed to slowly sneak my way towards him and stood and watched him through the long grass. He suddenly spotted me and sprung out the grass with an alarm call, and I managed to capture this image!
Roe deer are our most common native deer species here in the UK, inhabiting a range of different countryside areas including grassland, farmland, moorland, wetland and woodlands. Roe deer mate between the months of July and August, and we also spotted two does in the distance. The deer are generally solitary throughout summer, but will form small loose groups in winter.
