πŸ”₯ Fire at Hopeman this evening; Tuesday 25.08.2026. Aerial images showing the extent of the fire at 2100hrs.

The fire is mostly out now with fire crews still working on hot spots scattered across the area.

Most of Hopeman is still without power.

🐬 Some leaping Bottlenose Dolphin action, as they passed Burghead yesterday. 12.08.2026

Such a large, spread out group! Easily 30 - 40+ Dolphins! Awesome to see so many pass through.

I've got more footage of them but I'll need to sort it all out! πŸ™ƒ

Enjoy the video & don't forget to follow for more of my Wildlife Encounters! πŸ™πŸ˜Ž

😁 This is me, following Justyna around the Highland Folk Museum as if I'm filming the next Highland Hollywood Blockbuster! πŸ˜†

As well as a lovely place to visit; this was a good practice for capturing some cinematic looking content; something I may be offering soon as a service! 🀩

Thank you JKhighlandphotography for letting me stalk you around the museum! 🀣😊

Always love a wee stop to see the Sun setting at Nairn Beach! Everyone is different, but all are stunningly beautiful! πŸŒ…

πŸ₯‚ Which of these have you visited?

Sometimes you just need to find the glow in the dark and have a wee tipple! πŸ₯ƒ
There's so many cosy pubs and restaurants to hide in, when it's raining in Inverness!
This video doesn't even cover half of them! 😱

Shout out to the awesome Talisk who kindly allowed me to use the music for the video! 🀩🎻
They can sometimes be seen playing in Inverness! πŸ•ΊπŸ™Œ

Great to finally see places reopening at the Cairngorms but what a devastating fire it's been for the area. ☹️
With the Dava fire last year and the Cairngorm one this year...i wonder what will be learnt!

We are delighted to announce Cairngorm Mountain will reopen to visitors tomorrow, Friday 7 August 2026, following confirmation from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service that the access restrictions introduced during the recent wildfire in the Glenmore area will be lifted.

From Friday 7 August, the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and activities including Mountain Biking, Mountain Carting, Tubing Slides and the Adventure Play Park will all be operating as normal. All cafΓ©s, retail outlets and other attractions will also reopen, giving visitors the opportunity to experience everything the destination has to offer.

Mike Gifford, CEO of Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Ltd, said:

"We are delighted to be welcoming visitors back to Cairngorm Mountain following what has been an incredibly difficult period for our people and community.

I would like to take this opportunity to recognise the incredible efforts of everyone who has been working to tackle the wildfire since it first broke out. Having seen first-hand how difficult it is to contain the spread and ensure hotspots are extinguished across such complex terrain, we have a huge appreciation for the dedication and resilience of everyone involved. Working through long days and nights in challenging conditions, their commitment to preventing further damage has been remarkable."

"While some areas of Glenmore Forest will remain closed to allow the incident response to continue, the Highland scenery and many of the special places people come to the Cairngorms to enjoy remain as beautiful as ever. As the area reopens, every visit will help support local jobs, local businesses and the wider community as we look towards recovery."

To allow firefighting operations to continue over the coming days, we have agreed with Forestry and Land Scotland and SFRS to relocate their helicopter compound to the Coire na Ciste car park while air support for water bombing remains on scene. As a result, the motorhome stopover facilities and walkers’ car park at the Ciste will be closed until Monday 10 August at the earliest.

πŸ‹ 3 Northern Bottlenose Whales!

This Wildlife Encounter was definitely a little unexpected!

πŸ₯³πŸ»I was at Belladrum Festival, having a whale of a time, when the first sighting of these came in from the Cromarty area over the weekend.

I thought, and hoped, they'd be long gone by now! But today, Monday 3rd August, they couldn't have been any closer to me...Just off the Caley Stadium in Inverness! 😱

I grabbed my gear and got eyes on them just after lunchtime.
I continued to watch as they moved towards Avoch and i managed to get this filming done just off Fortrose when the rain stopped!

They continued to head out past Chanonry Point and past Fort George around 6.30pm.

As much as this is an incredible encounter, it is one that's carrying a little worry again! πŸ˜”
These are Northern Bottlenose Whales, a species of beaked whale usually found in deep waters, 1km+, eating squid.

In the past few days they've moved around from Cromarty, out into the Moray Firth, all the way in towards the Kessock Bridge and out again past Fort George.

They shouldn't really be in our shallow firths so hopefully they make their way back out to deeper oceans asap! πŸ™

Thank you as always to all the spotters and sightings which helped me see the whales today and capture this film.
I also spoke to lots of new people (no shock there!) so hello to you all if you made it to here! πŸ‘‹πŸ˜

Enjoy the video & don't forget to follow for more of my Wildlife Encounters! πŸ™πŸ˜Ž

✈️ Some of todays filming was done with extra permissions from Inverness Airport ATC as the whales passed through the Airports Flight Restriction Zone at Chanonry.
Thank you to the guys in the tower for helping. πŸ™
