Winter Sun ☀️

A big bonus of winter weddings is that the shorter days mean that your couples portraits will often fall over Golden Hour (the hour before sunset). This is often the best time of day for portraits, with some exceptions.

The downside is that drink receptions can also turn into a race against the clock to get all family photos and your portraits done before the light completely disappears.

To make sure you’ll have enough time for all the photos you want, I highly recommend reaching out to your photographer to ask how long these photos will take so you can plan your timeline with this and sunset in mind. You might also want to consider having a first look or taking some or all family photos before the ceremony so you can have a later ceremony or spend more time with family and friends post-ceremony.

✨Getting Ready Pt. 3✨

TIME: Aim to be in your dress one hour before your ceremony or one hour before you plan to leave your getting ready venue if your ceremony is at a different venue. This may seem like a long time before, but it allows for some buffer time if for whatever reason the morning runs late. It also allows plenty of time for photos with your family and bridal party and time just to chill and sip on some bubbly before you walk down the aisle. 🥂

✨Getting Ready Pt. 1 ✨

Bridal Preparations are such a fun part of the day and some of my favourite photos usually come from this part of the day. This special time can absolutely fly by though and result in a hectic last hour when you’d much rather be relaxing and enjoying those moments with your family and bride tribe.

Over the next few posts I’m sharing my go-to tips to make sure you have a stress-free morning and get the most out of your bridal prep photos too:

ROOM: Opt for a large getting space with lots of natural window light and light neutral walls. If you have a large bridal party, consider having two rooms or areas (one for hair/make-up) and one for photos and getting dressed. This will give you and your bridal party plenty of space to spread out and the best conditions for your hair and make-up artist to work their magic. Neutral colours will give your photos a more elevated look and no matter your colour scheme, your bridesmaids dresses and florals will look gorgeous.

Hey! It’s me. It’s been a while but I’m back!

This year has been my busiest year to date and I’m so thankful for all the couples that let me capture their day. I’m currently working hard behind the scenes to get all galleries and prints to my couples by Christmas so they can share with their friends and family. I’m also starting to plan for all the amazing weddings I have next year.

I have one wedding left this year that I can’t wait to share with you but here’s a little throwback to early Nov and the fun we had with sparklers with A&I in the evening on their big day. ✨✨
