Before the session.
Nobody says it afterwards.
Because I don’t ask you to pose. I give you something to do together and photograph what happens. It is chaotic and loud and real. The images look like a Tuesday in your house, not a photoshoot.

When your kids are grown up and have their own families, what do you think they’ll treasure most?
Not the toys. Not the holidays. The photos. The ones that show exactly who they were at this age. The gap in their teeth. The way the little one still reaches up for your hand. The chaos and the noise and the love all mixed together.
Most families have thousands of photos on their phone but nothing on the wall. Nothing they’ll hand down.
I’m Ben, a family photographer based in Inverurie. I’ve been capturing Aberdeenshire families for years and I genuinely believe these photos matter more than most people realise until it’s too late.
I’ve got a small number of May mini sessions open at Bennachie, one of the most beautiful spots in Aberdeenshire.
20 minutes. Loads of shots on the day. You choose your favourite 5 fully edited images to keep and if you fall in love with more you can always take home extra.
£200 per family. £99 secures your slot and comes off the total.

Only 10 families. Once they’re gone that’s it.

Kilts, confetti, and a proper knees-up from start to finish. From the morning nerves to the cobbled streets stroll, these two never stopped smiling (and neither did anyone else).

I’m out the office this week spending some proper time with my family. No laptops. No editing. Just soaking it all in. Because let’s be honest, that’s what it’s all about. Life moves fast and sometimes you need a break to enjoy the people who matter most.

So while I’m off making memories, I thought it was the perfect time to give someone else the chance to do the same.

Some couples just get it. No fuss, no big production, just connection, comfort, and a lot of good craic.

We wandered lanes, fields, and golden hour haze. These two were totally in their element. Laughing, cuddling, and soaking up that soft Scottish evening like it was bottled just for them.

There were no stiff poses, no awkward moments just two people head over heels, wrapped up in their own wee world. Honestly, shoots like this are why I love what I do.

This new headshot is a wee preview of what’s coming as I finally give my website a proper refresh – new photos, new words, a bit more me.
