En 2011, la fondation WO2GO a été invitée à participer à un projet visant à rendre les bunkers à nouveau visibles, mais surtout « tangibles ». En collaboration avec Groenservice
Zuid-Holland et Staatsbosbeheer, un grand groupe de bénévoles a travaillé dans la sueur pendant plus d’un an pour remettre les colosses en béton en vue. À l’aide d’une pelle et de seaux, les bunkers ont été progressivement vidés et les fortifications sous-marinées ont été retrouvées à l’aide d’une perche. Des chemins ont été construits sur le complexe et l’ensemble de l’itinéraire est équipé de panneaux d’information et de signalisation et donc entièrement autonome. La Bunkerroute peut être visitée toute l’année.
In 2011, the WO2GO Foundation was invited to take part in a project aimed at making bunkers visible again, but above all ‘tangible’. In collaboration with Groenservice
Zuid-Holland and Staatsbosbeheer, a large group of volunteers worked up a sweat for over a year to bring the concrete behemoths back into view. Using a shovel and buckets, the bunkers were gradually emptied and the underwater fortifications were recovered using a pole. Paths have been built around the complex, and the entire route is equipped with information and signposting panels, making it entirely self-guided. The Bunkerroute can be visited all year round.
