Thursday - Paris, France - March 2025

Back then, literally nobody at my high school listened to post-hardcore music — but fortunately for people into subcultures, the internet had already been around for a couple of years. And so, a virtual friend introduced me to post-hardcore, and my life changed forever.
Full Collapse by Thursday was one of the first albums I discovered, and I clearly remember thinking there was definitely something beyond the music — that Geoff’s lyrics, his almost spoken-word way of singing and screaming, were something else. I knew I needed to get better at English to fully understand the power of that record. I can still see myself in my bedroom with a dictionary, translating Paris in Flames. I remember my English teacher’s surprise when my grades suddenly improved — so much that I later decided to study English at university.
I also remember that never in my life did I think I would get to see them live. We tend to forget now because we’ve become used to it, but back then, traveling that far (to the US) was a privilege — an almost unreachable dream for me.
But you know how it went: traveling became much more affordable, and since Thursday never came back to Paris, I decided — as a young and daring adult — to go see them. In Belgium, in England for their anniversary shows, or at festivals. Dreams can come true!
Still, I never imagined I’d one day be able to tick this off my bucket list: photographing Thursday in Paris.
That happened last March, and oh boy, I was thrilled. Conditions were a bit tough because so many old fans didn’t want to lose their spot at the front — but hey, this was my only chance, so I made the most of it. And I’m pretty proud of these shots.
Thursday is one of the most important bands in the post-hardcore scene — people tend to forget that. Just like shooting Have Heart back in 2019, it was a true honour to be able to photograph these legends 🙏
