The oldest streets hold the deepest stories.
When walking through Kond, one of the oldest surviving neighborhoods in Yerevan, the camera is secondary. The real art of documentary photography is the conversation.

These are the moments that make street photography mean something.

When you take the time to actually speak with the people who shape the neighborhood, the resulting portrait carries so much more weight. It stops being a picture of a stranger and becomes a record of a meeting.

🗣️ Listen to our conversation in the video. Do you talk to your subjects before you shoot? 👇

May 1, 2025 | Paris, France.
Exactly one year ago today, the streets of Paris became a theater of resistance.
May Day (1er Mai) is never just a holiday in France; it is a profound declaration of workers' rights, solidarity, and the relentless demand to be heard.
As a documentary photographer, navigating the intense energy of a Parisian demonstration is an adrenaline rush. You are surrounded by noise, smoke, and sheer human conviction. Your only job is to cut through the chaos and find the truth of the moment.
These are scenes from last year’s march—capturing the raw, unfiltered reality of the streets. The years change, but the spirit of May 1st remains unbroken.
✊ Share this to your story to honor the spirit of May Day. Which of these moments holds the most power for you?

April 24 | 1915.

"I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are unanswered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia."
— William Saroyan

Documentary scenes from a pilgrimage to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex in Yerevan. A place built of concrete, silence, and memory to honor the 1.5 million lives lost.

You don't need a heavy studio rig to shoot medium format anymore.

Today I took a Fujifilm GFX100RF, 100-megapixel rangefinder out onto the streets, paired with a classic 35mm lens. It handles like a traditional street camera—light enough to keep moving, wide enough to capture the context—but the files it produces are absolute monsters.

When you find the right light and reflections, the dynamic range in the shadows is something you just can't get on a smaller sensor. It is the perfect balance of stealth and pure resolution.

Thanks to and .rennes for today.

🔍 Look at the details in the shadows on that final shots. Are you shooting full-frame, crop, or medium format right now? 👇

The Cascade | Yerevan, Armenia.

In street photography, architecture is more than just a background—it dictates how people move, rest, and interact.

The Cascade in Yerevan is a masterclass in scale and geometry. As a photographer, spaces like this force you to think about composition differently. You stop looking for subjects and start looking for shapes, waiting for a human element to enter the frame and break the symmetry.

🎞️ The deep shadows, the textured limestone, and the permanent watch of Mount Ararat.

Which slide captures the energy of the Cascade best for you? 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? Let me know below.

Street photography is 20% walking and 80% waiting.

You can't control who walks down the street, but you can control where you stand. When I find a perfect pocket of light or a geometric shadow here in Yerevan, I stop. I set my exposure, I pre-focus, and I build a "trap."

Then, it’s just a waiting game.

The next time you find good light, don't just take a picture of the empty wall. Wait 5 minutes. See who enters your stage.

⏳ Are you a "hunter" (always walking) or a "fisher" (waiting for the shot)? Let me know below.

05/04/26 | Yerevan, Armenia.

The ancient courtyard of Holy Mother of God Katoghike Church—Սուրբ Աստվածածին Կաթողիկէ Եկեղեցի—was nearly unrecognizable today. For Easter (Սուրբ Զատիկ), the quiet 13th-century chapel was enveloped by thousands who came to observe the resurrection liturgy.

A documentary look at a day defined by patience, ritual, and a quiet, persistent reverence in the middle of intense daylight and a thick crowd.

💾 Save this post to view later. For those who observed, how did you spend your Easter weekend? 👇

March 8th is not a celebration. It is a reminder.
Today in Rennes, the streets were filled with anger, joy, solidarity, and resistance. As a documentary photographer, my goal is to capture the truth of the moment. The truth today is that the fight for women's rights and equality is as urgent as ever.
From massive banners dropped from rooftops to the quiet strength of the older generations marching alongside the youth—the energy was undeniable.✊
📢 Share this to your story to amplify their voices today. Which of these moments captures the spirit of March 8th the best for you?

Behind every headline is a human story.

While the world focuses on the conflict in Iran, I keep going back to these photos from my time there. These children aren't "geopolitics." They are laughter, curiosity, and hope.

As a photographer, my job isn't just to see the light—it's to see the people.

☮️ Sending a message of peace and protection for all the children caught in the middle.

Street photography isn't about finding the perfect location. It's about finding the perfect moment in an ordinary place.

I walked past this spot three times before the light hit the pavement just right.

👁️ The camera is just a tool; the eye is the lens.

Which do you prefer? The reality or the vision?
