When you’re too into birding that you don’t even realize you’re posing for a photo
..

It’s been an amazing trip to Europe. We haven’t done quite as much birding as past trips this year but this day we got in a good full half day. A total of 35 life birds for me and 18 for Jonathan. I would say well worth the trip.

🇺🇸The House Finch has not always been found in the eastern United States.
🪤In 1940, they were illegally captured in California and imported to New York by pet dealers.
🎥Fearing prosecution, the dealers released their “Hollywood Finches” on Long Island in 1940.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Since then the finches have spread to all corners of the east and have even rejoined their relatives in the west.
