In museums and exhibition spaces, we are usually taught to keep a distance from the artwork. TOCCO reverses that relationship.

These interactive sculptures remain silent until someone touches them. Physical contact activates sound, transforming the viewer from an observer into an active part of the work.

TOCCO explores the relationship between body, material, sound, technology and participation, questioning where the artwork ends and the audience begins.

Without interaction, the work remains incomplete.

Tocco is a cross between an art studio and an electronics workshop. On the one hand, there’s the hand-cut aluminium; on the other, the circuit that determines how it responds when you touch it — a MIDI instrument built from scratch.

What you see on display is just the final stage. Before that, there are hours of filing, PCB testing and sound debugging.

Dal 19 al 26 giugno sarò in mostra presso la Ca****la dell’Incoronata a Palermo.
Per questa esposizione presenterò due opere della mia serie TOCCO: TOCCO 5 – Cerchi nel Cerchio e TOCCO 6 la nuova installazione alla quale ho lavorato questi ultimi mesi.
TOCCO è una ricerca continua sul rapporto tra corpo, suono, materia e interazione. Attraverso metalli, geometrie e sistemi digitali nascosti, le opere invitano il visitatore a diventare parte attiva dell’esperienza.
La mostra sarà l’occasione per presentare l’evoluzione più recente del progetto e continuare a indagare la relazione tra corpo, materiale e tecnologia.

TOCCO
A tribute to Kandinsky and to the silent harmony of sound and form.

This work brings together the seven musical notes inside a single circle — a microcosm of balance, rhythm, and vibration.
Inspired by “Circles in a Circle”, it continues my exploration of the deep connection between art and music.

Brass, copper and aluminum come together in a dialogue between the material and the immaterial, between geometry and resonance.

L'arte non è solo qualcosa da guardare; è qualcosa da vivere. Con "Tocco", un nuovo progetto che ho sviluppato, volevo creare un'opera che abbattesse le barriere tra arte e pubblico. Questa techno sculpture, installata su una porta, genera melodie uniche a seconda del tocco di chi interagisce con essa. "Tocco" esplora come l'arte può interagire con lo spazio e la nostra vita quotidiana, invitandoci a diventare co-creatori dell'opera stessa. Guarda il video per vederla (e sentirla!) in azione:
