Ever since I was a child, I remember wanting to record the sounds of the house, just in case one day I would have to leave and everything would be missed. I feel like I was nostalgic while living the very thing I would later miss.
A few months before leaving, the apartment being sold, I felt the need to pay tribute to it in a creative way. I wanted to explore self portraits for quite a while now and that seems like the perfect moment to do it. These images are, for me, a celebration of my younger years and a farewell to the walls that watched me grow for 25 years.
At first, these Polaroids were imagined as self-portraits, and my friend and photographer was supposed to simply help me with the process. But naturally, the project evolved, and he ended up taking all the photographs 🎞️
I wanted to stage some moments of my everyday life: lying in my bed, reading on the couch or calling a friend, sunbathing in the garden, spending time in the shower...
