NDA was born out of a desire to create parallel worlds, alongside other artists, whether they are fashion designers, musicians, perfumers, designers… Colored, offbeat, romanticized, feminine, are adjectives that best characterize the universe in which NDA evolves. NDA is a collective of artists coming from various backgrounds but they share the same artistic vision. Never mind the tools they use,
they choose the artistic path that best fits the project. In a hybrid way, they employ photography, motion, 3D, and drawings to build creative assets fitting their vision. Getting as close as possible to the identity of the project, they enjoy bringing it to the border between reality and fiction. Their images sway between the reality that surrounds them and the fiction that they sometimes let themselves freely imagine. The result of this creates images that are an augmented, colorful, and feminine reality. NDA explores constantly the limitations of our reality by exploiting the imagination. By keeping a strong foundation, they incorporate current matters into their photography. The new technologies allow them to push further their imagination by creating fictional universes and characters. Heavily inspired by pop culture, fashion, cartoons, and cinema, their work unifies a certain chaos of references. By injecting transgenerational references in their images, they create surprising shifts, for instance, the merge of Clueless with Marz Attacks for their story “The Ordinary School” for Vogue Italia. The foundation of their images is the storytelling behind them. Their series of images tell narratives, but they can also be interpreted freely, and each image can stand alone. They draw an extravagant pop society and participate in the questions raised because of the technological progress humans are making. Humor and derision are placed at the center of the approach. For example, for Japanese artist Rhyme, they created a series of images where a giant robot plays with the artist, she grows up entwined with the monster, living forever. The new technologies allow them to bring to reality their imagination and desires. Working with different software, they compose their assets mixing 3D elements and photography or motion. For Unofficial X Fortnite Campagne they created a series of images inspired by the egame Fortnite. Merging 3 different tools: photography, 3D, and the universe of video games. The development of tools at their disposal enhances their quest to push the boundaries they currently live in, pioneers on creating a full runway show in 3D for the Helsinki Fashion Week, one may wonder what will be the next step in the art industry.
