I get asked alot what I miss about the US. And besides family and friends I really miss nothing - except an American dentist.

The view from the salle d’attente (waiting room) at my dentist’s office. Love photographing through the old glass - I like what it does to this first photo.

I love a few other things about the dentist as well. He has gorgeous photo books, an enormous coffee table book and more important than his love of photography is his American-style approach to dentistry.

I love 98.9% of everything here in France and especially Paris. But the dentists have been a little - je ne sais quoi - compared to the US.

Finding this dentist was a stroke of luck. The cleaning are thorough and less rushed and I am not inverted during treatment or soaked when I finish. One of the very, very few times you will hear me say that ‘it’s just like the 🇺🇸 but it is!

Here in France there are no hygienists. Actual dentists do the cleanings - so I have certainly been well taken care of over the last 2.5 years.

But moving to Paris and finding this dentist has been a game changer in my French dental life.

Just a personal note. And of course I walked right out and into this gorgeous patisserie. 😳

WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH MONEY? 💰 Photography business owners have you ever asked yourself this question?

It took me awhile to connect the dots earlier in our business. Understanding the internal dialogue you have with money is a pretty good barometer of the limitations that affect your business.

You need to know how much you want to make, how much you keep, how much you spend, where does your money come from, where does it go? What value do you offer? How do you limit yourself?

Are you able to accept earning a number you never even imagined?

What resistance comes up for you?

Take the time and effort to work on this.

What is the internal dialogue you have?

Grab your journal and spend a few minutes on these questions.

There is a connection between the health of your photography business and your relationship with money.

Understanding this relationship is an important starting point.

You have to do the internal work with money in order to create a long term successful business. You just may need a new belief system to create more and have that business you want.

Timing. Isabella and I had just walked off the train at Gare de Lyon in Paris when we saw a WhatsApp message from a real estate agent that had an apartment to show us that fit a lot of what we wanted. But we had to act fast.

We dropped our bag out our hotel and had a very brief window that we could see this apartment before we had other appointments. So off we went to meet the agent.

We loved it. There was something so homey and welcoming about the apartment. Immediately we could see ourselves living here.

The catch? We would have to make a decision quick. Which meant that Keith and Gabby would not see the apartment prior to us putting in an application.

Later that day after seeing a few more apartments we had even more evidence that this apartment was the one.

Getting an apartment in France is not always an easy feat. But everything really fell into place nicely - including working with a wonderful agent Paris.

It’s been a long month moving and getting set up here. But worth every box, every hour of packing and unpacking. We are awaiting a couch that we ordered but for now this is what I see as I sip my morning coffee.

As I sit here I feel overwhelmingly inspired to keep challenging myself, to keep trying new things, to keep exploring the world and to keep trusting myself that anything is possible.
