Spring in Paris is honestly the most magical time for family photos, and one of the questions I get asked most is: what should we actually wear? I love this question so much because the right outfits can make your whole gallery feel cohesive, timeless, and so beautifully you.
My biggest tip: think about coordinating, not matching. Pick a soft colour palette of two or three tones that complement each other and the season. For spring I am absolutely obsessed with dusty rose, warm ivory, sage green, and soft camel. These colours glow in the golden hour light filtering through the chestnut trees, and they photograph so beautifully against the creamy limestone of Parisian buildings.
Avoid large logos, very bright neons, or busy patterns if you can. They tend to draw the eye away from the faces and the connections between you, and those moments of laughter and closeness are truly what we are here to capture. Flowy dresses, linen trousers, and soft knits are your best friends for a spring session in the city.
And please, wear something you feel comfortable and like yourself in. I have seen so many families arrive a little stiff in outfits they chose purely for the photos, and the ones who always look the most relaxed and radiant are the ones who dressed in a way that felt natural to them. Confidence really does show up in pictures.
I just published a full guide on my blog with outfit ideas, colour palette examples, and links to some of my favourite pieces for every budget. The link is in my bio, go have a read before your session! And if you are still dreaming of booking a spring shoot in Paris, my calendar is open and I would absolutely love to capture your family here.
