A total solar eclipse is definitely a Space oddity (turn on the sound). To conclude my series on this eclipse, I did an HDR version from the photos of my previous post. Notice the length of the solar extensions from the corona. The crop / zoom is so that you can see the solar prominences. The various versions with different colors are basically for the pleasure (different post-processing from same HDR fusion). And don’t ask me why there is the black part inside the corona. I fought during hours but it did not go away. Final version is aligned manually with Photoshop and HDRed with Lightroom.

A few more photos from the total eclipse. View from the Castillo towards the West of Burgos.
First one is about the maximum of the eclipse then the Diamond ring and the eclipsed sunset. All pictures taken with my iPhone except the last one with my Canon R5.

Total Solar Eclipse from Burgos. Such a magnificent experience! We were able to see the eclipse until the sunset on the horizon (more photos to come). During the totality I did some bracketing of exposure which gave the last pictures where you can see the nice solar prominence on the left. (I even have a very low exposure photo with only the solar prominence. It will be for the story.) A small mishap happened when my last picture was a long time exposure, more than 20s so I missed these last seconds of totality. I will see if I can stack some of these pictures. And I have more than 400 photos of the whole eclipse so I will do a timelapse later as it will require some significant work of alignment and exposure adjustment.

Close to perfection, but there is this traffic light 😫
Thanks to Cândido Barroso PhotoPills for the reminder
And with Ninou Kevin 🦋 | Travel - Sunset .godmer.

Fun fact: at the bottom of this picture you have the PhotoPills event. I was further down the Champs Élysées in order to have the sun a bit bigger and higher.

It is my first Parishenge in August. So I can see differences with the Parishenge of May. In May you have the French flag in the arch for May 8th but you have less traffic lights because some are removed for ceremonies.

PS It is a pity but in exactly one year we miss an absolutely crazy event: a Parishenge with a partial eclipse, as there will be (another) eclipse on August 2nd 2027 but unfortunately it will be around 10am in Paris 😭
