Warm greetings from Rue de Rivoli! The street created by Napoleon who ordered city architects to design it as he desired to build a prestigious and luxurious place for Parisians to make their promenades.
We love it because of its strict lines and extraordinairy perspective.

The beauty of glass and steel. The most famous glass& steel building in the world is probably the Pyramide of Louvre, however, the idea to create glass curtain-walled buildings was implemented much earlier - at the very beginning of XIX century.
The beginnings were not easy, as such constructions were perceived as ugly by many. Slowly but surely this interesting "marriage" was gaining the interest of architects, constructors and property owners. Nowdays, nearly every corporate office building features large glass windows or full glass curtain walls.

Today we admire the beautiful architecture of Gare d'Austerlitz, a train station, while taking our 1 hour daily walk, 1 km from the house.

"Can you hear me calling
Out your name?
You know that I'm falling and I don't know what to say
I'll speak a little louder
I'll even shout
You know that I'm proud and I can't get the words out
Oh I, I want to be with you everywhere..."

"I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song
I'm twenty-two now but I won't be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green
Turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand..."
- Simon & Garfunkel

Hava a great autumn day, no matter what!

Although it seems that positive thinking is super difficult now, it is the black scenarios that are a threat to us, because the most resistant are ... optimists. Scientists and doctors agrees that through our thoughts we generates various energy frequencies. Positive thoughts, those related to hope, love, joy or gratitude are highly charged with life energy and have a very beneficial effect on us. And because we listen to scientists and doctors, we stay positive, we hope for positive future months, we are super thankfull for all of your support - your "likes" (🙌). And when we feel a bit down, we start singing because it helps us a lot!

"...My girl's name is Señora
I tell you friends I adore her
And when she dances, oh brother!
She's a hurricane in all kinds of weather..."

🍁 In 1911 Marie Skłodowska-Curie was announced a Nobel laureate in chemistry.
🍁 In 1951 our beloved Frank Sinatra got married with beautiful and talented Ava Gardner. 🍁 And in 2015 in Edinburgh, a life-size monument to Wojtek the bear, who fought alongside soldiers of General Władysław Anders during WW II, was unveiled.

Exactly 85 years ago, on 5th of Nov 1935 American company Parker Brothers introducted a new board game to the market - Monopoly! Who wouldn't know this game!
The history of Monopoly started somewhere at the beginning on 20th century, when one American woman, Lizzie Magie, writer and games designer, created a new game. At the beginning it supposed to be an educational game to explain some details of taxes and illustrate the negative aspects of concentration of land ownership. Within time, several variants of this game has been introduced, Lizzie Magie sold her right to it to game manufacture - Parker Brothers.

And why do we talk about it? Because it is a perfect game to play with family and friends in long dark evenings, which we have now in our part of the world. Plus, it is brilliant idea for entertainment during 2nd lockdown!

with beautiful , on her street portrait photo session, when we could walk as much as we could!

"Walking at random through the streets, we came by chance upon the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I shall long remember my first impression of the scene within. The lofty gothic ceiling arched far above my head and through the stained windows the light came but dimly – it was all still, solemn and religious"
— Bayard Taylor, 19th century American poet, translator and travel maniac, who we know mainly as author of "Beauty and the Beast" 🙃

And speaking of travel maniacs - travelling which we know still not possible. And when you miss Paris so much, that it hurts, you can have Parisian photo at your home.

This particular photo is super-special: take a look at the cathedral! Yes, this photo was taken before the fire in 2019. And it was taken on film!!

Today we are walking in Madeleine district. It took its name from Église de la Madeleine, a Greek templelike church. In the photo we see the view on the Royal street standing in front of this church. On 12th of August 1843, the Rue Royale was a scene of bizarre natural phenomenon - a massive amount of butterflies gathered in this area: on the road, buildings, and traffic causing great chaos, but also astonishment of everyone who witnessed this.
