Rosheim is an ancient town—with a 1,300-year history and its first documentary mention in 778—that evolved into a fortified medieval stronghold during the 14th century. This delightful town captivates visitors with its well-preserved stone fortified gates, colorful half-timbered houses, and the oldest stone building in Alsace. In its quiet, historic lanes—far removed from the hustle and bustle of major tourist crowds—the charm of bygone eras has been wonderfully preserved.
