While preparing my camera for Trveheim Festival next weekend, I realized that it’s been ten years (!) since the first edition of the festival.

Ten years ago the festival happened as a one-day-thing in Otterfing, near to Munich and it was a hell of a ride! Nine bands, from young and local stuff up to the Crème de la Crème of the Heavy Metal scene at that time: Attic, Space Chaser and Skullwinx (the festival organizer’s band!) to name only a few. Besides that there were legendary acts like Demon and Trance - and Steelwing played their second last show ever on the festival.

My friends of Blackslash were the second band to play and it felt really like homecoming, seeing so many familiar faces onstage and in the crowd. So let’s have a view into the past to get excited for this year’s Trveheim!

Last Friday I had the chance to witness Opeth once again - and this time during their only show in Germany this year at the legendary Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen.

This brought to my mind that I had these photos sitting on my hard drive disk for nearly ten years. I took them at the Z7 in Pratteln in 2017 and I’ve now thought it’s time to release them.

Although we’re now all some years older, the memories of the concerts like last Friday or nine years ago are wery fond in my mind - as well is the gesture of Fredrik Åkesson of giving me a guitar pick back in the day!

You probably (or hopefully) know what’s happening this weekend: Portugal’s best psychedelic- and stoner-ish festival! SONICBLAST FEST is the perfect mix of a vacation somewhere between sand dunes, next to the sea and with lots of fantastic rockers!

This year’s lineup contains between some legendary and rare to see bands like Mephistofeles or Conan a lot of old friends on the billing. With the american guys of Deathchant (which visit the festival every year), the fantastic Voivod or Midnight there’s a kinda hard scheme of music.

But on the other hand there are the essence of psychedelic and space rock bands like 𝐌 𝐀 𝐃 𝐌 𝐄 𝐒 𝐒 and a lot of others, which I photographed there during my road trip two years ago. So get in the mood for some desert rock, have a Sangria at the coast and enjoy SonicBlast!

This weekend the tour of Judas Priest starts and I’m super excited to see them again! Let’s not forget the influence the band had and still has on the traditional Heavy Metal scene.

One of the bands that resembles the Metal Gods - not just in music - are the amazing Stallion that had a huge impact on me since I’ve first got to know them some ten plus x years ago.

Although I’ve seen Stallion several times now, I’m very excited to hear about their future since they’re on a hiatus right now. So to shorten that time, enjoy these photos of them at Muskelrock last year and see you soon!

It’s hot outside. 🔥 And so are these photos of the swedish psychedelic rockers of Agusa! I had the chance to witness their amazing performance at Muskelrock last year and oh boi, they were on fire!

Their music feels like the perfect soundtrack for a chilly day in the nature or space - and that combined with a flute, strong 70’s guitar and synthesizer sounds sounds live even better, so take a listen into their freshly released live album „Panacea“.

If you’re into that kind of stuff, stay tuned! This weekend I’ll finally have some time again to edit some more concert photos which I’ll post later. So stay tuned and have a cold one!

After Muskelrock means before Der Detze Rockt - and to get you in the mood for that fantastic festival here are some photos of the legendary Candlemass which played a show with their also legendary singer Johan Langquist there last year.

You might know his voice from their debut album or the legendary track „Hjärtlös stad“ which is probably THE earworm of my festival season this year and after Muskelrock this was the track that we played probably the most in our little cabin in the woods.

Wishing everybody a nice ! Unfortunately I can’t make it to this year’s edition but dug up some photos of which I’ve taken at the DFB two years ago.

Einseinseins actually played a 90-minute set in my hometown last weekend and I think my ears haven’t fully recovered from that yet. Amazing dudes and amazing memories!

Check them out if you’re into psychedelic, Kraut- and space rock like Yuri Gagarin, Kombynat Robotron or Kraftwerk-ish stuff! Cheers and happy fathers‘ day!

Soo, in just a few weeks the one and only Muskelrock på Tyrolen festival will take place in Sweden. But before that there’s this week’s SkullCrusher Fest Freiburg happening.

It’s organized by Harald, a true maniac of the local scene. He even brought Freeways to the ArtTik last year! THE band of which I mainly went to Muskelrock for the first time, back in 2022.

So there’s probably no better way than with pictures of those hard rockers in Freiburg to get in the mood for this year’s festival season (maybe besides with Flight or Venator). See you on Friday or in Sweden!

Wayfarer! The new Kerrigan album with this name was released this week and it’s as energetic and catchy as it’s predecessor, Bloodmoon!

Although this weekend had some downlights for the Heavy Metal scene, especially with the passing of Manowar’s Ross the Boss, there’s still some good news with releases by Midnatt from Sweden, the legendary Cruel Force (who’s going to be at their Easter-show?) or the Kerrigan(g).

After organizing their first gig ever in 2024 I’ve witnessed them several times in the last few years and took these photos of them at Der Detze Rockt last summer. So with the temperatures hopefully rising, enjoy the beginning of spring while looking forwards to the next festival- and open-air-season. See you soon, Torchbearers!
