Endemic to Madagascar and critically endangered ... The Indri lemur with its beautiful green eyes - last year I was fortunate enough to have two encounters virtually at eye level with a mother and her 4 month year old baby Indri - special wildlife moments . My upcoming exhibition in Gordes will feature a picture of one of those encounters .

In May of this year Rebecca went to the UK for a week and I took Myrtle , our fluffy dog out every morning 😘 and tried out a few backlight pictures ... Myrtle posed nicely and it is about time I post some pictures of her.

The European Roller ( the blue bird / l'oiseau bleu ) is arguably one of the most beautiful birds of Provence. A migratory bird arriving here during may and flying back to Africa in september/october. Shy of human beings and very difficult to approach I experienced the luxury of following a pair for a few weeks who undisturbed by my presence in a hide continued their nidification routine ... giving me the chance for this backlight image . A real treat ... the chicks have left the nest just a few days ago 😘

The lavender season is coming to an end with the harvest some two weeks earlier than usual due to the heatwave ... I took this picture with a very special macro lens some years ago 😘

I just returned from my annual visit to the Irish coast photographing seabirds ... I haven't had the time to process my pictures yet except for this backlit image of a Northern Gannet coming back ashore where by under exposing quite a bit I eliminated the background ... With the heatwave across europe the conditions this year at the end of the day were just perfect ... A rare opportunity !

I have been quiet posting lately but I am still there 😘 Madagascar is known for its Lemurs but Chameleons are also part of its wildlife treasures as seen here with a female Calama Parsoni . She just took a slow turn in front of my camera showing off its iconic tail !
