10 shots. A free and timeless spirit.
There is something about photographing the white horses of the Camargue in black and white.
Without color, the landscape becomes quieter.
The light becomes more dramatic.
And the horses themselves take centre stage.
Running through shallow water, disappearing into the mist, standing quietly in the marshes or galloping beneath a dramatic sky, every moment tells a different story.
November is one of my favorite times to photograph them. The summer crowds are gone, the light is softer, the temperatures are cooler, and the Camargue reveals a more intimate and atmospheric side of itself.
This is not simply about photographing horses.
It is about being in the right place, at the right moment, and learning to anticipate those fleeting moments when movement, light and emotion come together.
In November, I will be returning to the Camargue for a small-group photography workshop dedicated to these extraordinary horses and the landscapes they call home.
