What have you seen during your life that changed you forever?

This piece from my "Justice is Blind." series explores how our deepest traumas become embedded in us. They dictate how we breathe and how we cope.

The blindfold here isn't just fabric; it’s a bandage. It represents not just the physical wounds of history, but a collective, desperate attempt to heal. We try to cover it up, but beneath the gauze, the visual ghosts of a lifetime of non-stop trauma remain trapped—painted permanently onto our eyes.

A lifetime of looking at things that should never have been seen.

Acrylic on canvas.

His first breath was heavy with the dust of what came before him.

Some children are born into gardens; others are born into the wreckage. I painted this because he never had a choice. He didn't just witness the conflict—he was forged by it.

When war is all a child knows, what becomes of the soul?

Months of re-sketching the same silence.

Around the world.
In all wars—absolutely all of them.

- News bought.
- News sold.
- Truth fought for.
- Truth murdered for.

I have a memory from when I was 5 years old and the safest place to hide was the stairs of the first floor of building. We used to sit there all night. One night my mother decided she wanted to bring the mattresses down from our apartment, and as soon as she reached the top floor a huge bang, horrific sound, filled the air and the flash of light lit up the dark, I screamed my lungs out and the family was holding me back so that I don't go up running to find my mom.
