Il développe une œuvre singulière où dialoguent photographie et dessin qu’il place au service d’une esthétique romantique. Photographe auteur installé à Caen, je suis né au Maroc ou j’ai passé mon enfance et mon adolescence. En Normandie, j’ai troqué le ciel bleu de ma jeunesse contre celui plus contrasté, si cher aux impressionnistes. Alors je sillonne ma région à la recherche d’un coin de nature
, à l’heure où la lumière vacillante, esquisse un paysage émouvant, mystérieux et romantique. Je réalise également des portraits saisis sur le vif mais le plus souvent mis en scène pour éveiller le souvenir d’une vieille histoire oubliée. Dans ce cas, je conçois mes personnages et décors seul. Mon approche artistique consiste à opposer à l'immédiateté de la photographie numérique un long travail artisanal de construction de mon sujet. Je recherche également le défaut imperceptible et la lumière réaliste qui donnent à mes portraits une impression vague de décadence, un air mélancolique évoquant l'univers du cabaret ou le cinéma. Laissez mon regard vous guider, vous emmener un instant, dans le temps et l’espace de mon imaginaire et peut-être vous émouvoir. Author photographer living in Caen, I was born in Morocco where I spent all my childhood and teenage years. In Normandy, I have traded the blue sky of my youth for the darkest one so precious to impressionists. I have learnt to love it too. I crisscross my region searching for a plot of nature, at a time when the flickering light outlines a moving landscape, mysterious and romantic. I also recreate portraits, taken in the heat of the action but more often staged to awaken the memory of an old forgotten tale. In this case, I design my characters and settings alone. My artistic approach opposes the immediacy of digital photography to a laborious and artisanal construction of my subject. I also look for imperceptible flaw and realistic lighting that give my portraits a decadent, melancholic atmosphere evoking the world of cabaret or cinema.
