That’s how I spend my summer. Wrapped up in love. From one weekend to the next, I’m enveloped in love story after love story. C & A made this small corner of France theirs for the weekend, bringing the best people from as far away as possible to come and be close. To celebrate with them. It was the perfect mix of backyard chill and quiet elegance. I was grateful for the Kiwi playlists, for the guest who spoke French to me the entire time, for the couple who took the whole day in their stride, even when the showers set in and it was all hands on. Taken along for the ride of yet another beautiful love story, where I only get a glimpse, but I can’t shake the feeling that when two people are best friends, and they’re surrounded by best friends, the story is always going to be amazing.

Wow, what a day. Bright, emotional, beautiful, warm. When every detail has been carefully poured over, when the weather, location, friends and family come together for perfection. Traditional, modern, with florals like I’ve never seen before. The best friend used the word “authentic” in her speech, and it was, it was all the best bits of careful planning and then just absolute joy on the day.

When Julia got in touch with me all the way back in May 2024, I knew this was going to be special. And it was. These previews only scratch the surface, but they hold so much of that joy.

When people come from across the world to celebrate the couple, you know that it’s going to be an emotional one, and lots of people too! The sun shone all day for us, there was this steady energy of calm and happiness and above all, love, from all corners of the world, and especially between A&H. Fun. Closeness. Love, that’s what stood out.

More film. Abby & Billy chose to add film to their wedding coverage and I couldn’t be more grateful, because a whole day on film just feels different. Real, raw, authentic, and this one had all of it, from the quiet moments to the wild ones, surrounded the whole time by the people who matter most, with smiles that never left. Vendors can set the stage, but it’s the couple who bring the heart, and Abby & Billy brought it in bucket loads. You can feel when a couple have that genuine kind of love, the love that loves you in sweatpants, the kind lifted up by people who love you for who you are and love that you are together, and you can feel it in these photos.

A moment for the bride. Have just been sharing film on my feed lately and I guess that’s because it’s so exciting for me. The process is so much slower, but so much more intentional. There’s more care in the process, more time before you see the results. You don’t get to check the back of the camera and know right away. And that’s the magic. Even after all the rolls I’ve shot, that part never gets old. Each frame is familiar, but still a wonderful surprise to finally see it living on film. Every negative feels like a little gift.

They chose everything to reflect them relaxed, refined, understated but with an elegance that came effortlessly. A dress she could move in. Shoes she could walk in. You could see how they felt with the way they held each other after the ceremony, a quiet moment overlooking the Dordogne valley.

My first wedding of the high summer season, and one that reminded me why this is the most incredible thing I could be doing. At the heart of it, it’s always about the same thing: I love when people are genuinely happy on their wedding day. Not afraid to smile until their cheeks hurt, not afraid to wrap themselves up in their love for each other and in all the love coming back at them from their guests.

With a destination wedding, it carries a different weight, every guest has made the effort to be there, and it’s the ones who know you best. That’s what makes it safe to let go, to relax, to simply be yourself. Of all days, the wedding should be the one where you don’t have to think about anything else in the world, Chris and Lottie didn’t. They were too busy enjoying it all. Even when a summer shower rolled in just before the ceremony, it didn’t change a thing, it just became part of the story, taken in stride, the same way I imagine these two face the world together.

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. Maybe because it reminds us that love isn’t about perfect weather or flawless plans—it’s about showing up with open hearts, no matter what. And that’s exactly what Eilís and Matthew did.

My parents got married in the rain, too. Thirty-five years later, I think maybe the rain just knows how to bless the right kind of love.

It’s always the same, but it never is — getting ready, the vows, the first dance, all the expected beats—but each entirely different. Because it’s never the timeline that makes a wedding what it is, it’s the people. The ones who show up, not just to celebrate but to be celebrated.

I never go in with a script. I show up, I watch, I wait, I want to meet you where you are, not push you to a place that doesn’t feel real. Because it’s not my story to tell, and that’s what makes it worth showing up for again and again—knowing that what unfolds in front of me will always be more real, more beautiful, more alive than anything I could plan for. And that’s the magic of it.

It didn’t take me long to figure out what I love about weddings. I always felt this pressure to love and appreciate all the wedding-y things… the stuff that “little girls dream of.” And those things are nice, but they’re never what stays with me once the day is done. When I go through the photos I’ve taken, I’m always drawn to the same thing: how incredible it is to be surrounded by so many people who love you so much.

The exciting part for me is dropping myself into someone else’s joy-filled world for a day. I’m along for the ride, through all the unexpected bits. I get this free pass into intimacy and vulnerability. I never underestimate the privilege of being offered a glimpse into your wonderful world and the amazing people who make it so.

I’m the one who gets to package it all up into something that will take you back 10, 20, 50+ years from now, hopefully bringing back the same love you felt in those moments.

For a day, I get to see all the things that affirm life for you. And it affirms it for me too.
