These photographs were taken while on a photographic holiday with John Wright in the Camargue in March 2011.
The Camargue horses are a beautiful colour and appear wild in photographs. However, they are stabled and used by visitors in the Summer. When born the foals are brown, and only change colour after about three years.
The "cowboys" who ride them for herding horses and bulls are called Gardians.

These are photograhs taken on two trips to Churchill on Hudson Bay.We stayed on vehicles and sleeping compartments for a week, and saw all types of animal behaviour. The photos are of mainly polar bears.

As a special request, I have loaded this photograph. No, it is not a cheetah. I photographed this polar bear near Churchill on the Hudson Bay, Canada on a trip with John Wright.. I have called the photograph "Polar Bear in Flames". The bear is shaking ice crystals from its fur, which improves the heat insulation. The wind blew the crystals behind it and the red sun reflected through the crystals, giving an impression of flames.

Last August/September I went on two photographic safaris in the Masai Mara, run by David Lloyd and John Wright respectively. I had been on several before, but none for 6 years. I thoroughly enjoy and never get tired of watching the animals and their behaviour. I get great pleasure from taking their photographs, and then looking at them at a later date as it brings back the exciting memories.

I have been going through my photographs of Cheetahs, and intend to put them on this page over the next few weeks. There is a big variety of behaviour from hunting and eating to play and bonding between mother and cub. The ugly but necessary way of life to the cute.
