I spent the day yesterday, photographing this beautiful house in the heart of the lively town of Capestang - and then back again after sunset for some Twilight pics.

With the imposing church as a backdrop and a cool pool beckoning on this hot and humid night, what else would you want on a getaway holiday?!

This wonderful house has oodles of charm. It has been converted from an old winery into 2 apartments both with sunny outlooks, but also with some darker corners.

My objective was to capture that charm and throw some light into the darker corners to bring that oldie-worldie character back to life.

This is one of the main challenges, particularly with smaller houses in this region of France and the difference between well balanced photos and home-brew options will make the difference when it comes to pulling in the bookings.

A photo shoot for two apartments full of character and charm. Quite interesting to photograph as the interior is quite dark and outside was bright and sunny.

Careful positioning of flashes has lifted awkward corners and given detail where you would otherwise find shadows.

It's that time of year to start thinking of the new rental season.

A fresh coat of paint here and there, sweeping up leaves and cleaning the pool are all great ways to prepare for a fresh, new set of photos of your property.

Now, I have some pretty good camera kit, and even my little pocket point-and-squirt packs a punch, but how does a €100 teeny little camera compare to a big pro camera with flash guns?

Here's a little taster of a bedroom I photographed today where, JUST FOR FUN, I whipped out my little Lumix pocket camera and snapped a few at the same time.

Online for only 5 days and already 4 weeks booked ...

My latest property shoot was for a small beautifully restored village house with views out towards the Pyrenees. The owners wanted the photos to convey the airiness, character and vitality of this little gem.

Very clickable don't you think?
