❄️ Teknologian testausta historiallisessa ympäristössä: XGRIDS PortalCam vs. -22°C
Pääsin testaamaan XGRIDS PortalCam -laitteen suorituskykyä todellisissa talviolosuhteissa Joensuun Linnunlahdella. Pakkanen paukku miedossa -22 asteessa, m***a laite selviytyi haasteesta erinomaisesti.

Testikohteena toimi mielenkiintoinen palanen paikallishistoriaa: Linnunlahden metsässä sijaitseva vanha ampumasuoja (tai näyttösuoja). Tämä betonirakenne on peräisin Suojeluskunnan vanhalta ampumaradalta 1920- ja 1930-luvuilta, jolloin alue oli merkittävä sotilaskoulutuksen keskus.

Kyseessä on vankka betonirakenne, jonka suojissa henkilöt seisoivat merkitsemässä osumia tauluihin ammunnan aikana. Nykyään sammaloitunut raunio muistuttaa alueen menneisyydestä, vaikka monet ulkoilijat ohittavat sen huomaamattaan.

❄️ Testing tech in historical settings: XGRIDS PortalCam vs. -22°C
I recently took the XGRIDS PortalCam out for a field test in Joensuu, Finland. Even in the biting -22°C frost, the device performed reliably and handled the sub-zero conditions impressively well.

The subject of the scan was a fascinating piece of local history: an old shooting shelter (or marking shelter) tucked away in the Linnunlahti forest. These concrete ruins date back to the 1920s and 30s, when the area served as a primary training ground for the local Civil Guard (Suojeluskunta).

Originally, these sturdy structures protected personnel who marked hits on targets during live fire exercises. Today, these moss-covered ruins stand as a "hidden gem" of military history, often unnoticed by passersby.
