✨ Kulunut vuosi toi mukanaan mielenkiintoisia kuvausprojekteja, uusia ympäristöjä, inspiroivia kohtaamisia sekä uusien oppien yhdistämistä ja lisäämistä työnkulkuun.

Haluankin tämän videon myötä, jossa seikkailen muutamien viimeaikaisten projektien ”virtuaalikulisseissa”, kiittää lämpimästi kaikkia asiakkaita, yhteistyökumppaneita ja tiimejä luottamuksesta ja yhteistyöstä kuluneen vuoden aikana. Sooo… I made a short film.
Why? Because I can. And because Halloween’s creeping closer... 🎃

Also because the AI Horror Film Contest gave me the perfect excuse to dig a little deeper into this new world of creative tools.

The film was created using multiple softwares — written, animated, edited, and sound-designed entirely by myself. Took some time — definitely not a one-click job — but still way less than it would’ve taken using traditional methods..
It was a fun project to make, and an even better one to learn from. Honestly, the pace of development in these tools is just wild.

Last Saturday I received the amazing news that at the Finnish Photo Awards 2025, I had won Gold in the Digitally Created Images category, Silver in Commercial, and also received three Honorable Mentions in the Digitally Created Images category. ✨

The Gold award came from a 50th birthday portrait I created for a good friend, which makes the recognition feel even more meaningful.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there in Tampere where the awards were presented — but getting the news made my son’s birthday weekend even more special! 🎉

Most of my submitted images went into the Digitally Created Images category, because it’s the only one in the competition where AI can be part of the creative process. These days, especially in the commercial and advertising field, it’s hard not to use AI — as it has become an essential tool that speeds up workflows and opens entirely new creative possibilities.

The awarded images were created for: Nelonen Media, Warner Bros. Discovery Finland, Sanoma Media Finland, Metsänhoitoyhdistys.

I’m truly happy and inspired by this recognition — and by all the amazing creatives who continue to raise the bar for visual work in Finland year after year.

As part of Savox’s brand renewal, I had the honor of being part of the creative planning team and producing dozens of new images that represent the company’s four key sectors: Defence, Fire & Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Industry.
The visuals combine traditional photography with artificial intelligence. All people, products and gear were photographed using real props in studio settings, while the background environments were built using AI – designed to enhance the mood, story and sector-specific context of each image.
This hybrid approach enabled us to deliver a consistent and visually impactful result with faster production timelines and a more cost-efficient process compared to conventional location shoots.
The goal was to create visual scenes (including portrait-like images, as well as more action-oriented ones) that not only showcase Savox’s solutions, but also speak directly to the people who use them — in environments where every second and decision can be critical.

Big thanks to Savox for the trust and the courage to renew their visual identity with modern creative tools.

Hi there, there has been a short update break as I have delved into the secrets of AI and new workflows in image production. Now I can already say that AI's performance is starting to be at a level (with my own rather demanding pixel-level analysis) where it is possible to create reasonable still and moving images for marketing needs, when the requirement is high-resolution material. The website is also being updated and information will be provided as soon as it is finished.

But there are always cases where AI is not necessarily the best approach, such as this - the most current job out of the oven.

Key Art for Nelonen Media's Kurjen Kirous series, which starts in a couple of weeks. These gentlemen are great guys, yes, and absolutely brilliant performers and subjects! 👍

It starts again, the World Junior Championships, and this year the Team Finland we know as Young Lions traveled across the seas to Canada for their conquest. Let’s wish them a successful tournament! 🏒🇫🇮🏆

Yet again the best people at Warner Bros. Discovery Finland gave me the opportunity to craft the Key-visual for the Finnish broadcast at TV5 and Max.

For this image I combined several photographs and used AI as a tool in many ways to achieve this result.

Works great! Also nice to see it in use in the Hockey-Studio on TV.

I also placed in the top10 in commercial and illustrative categories. Nice! 🤘🏻
