WELCOME TO NIGHTTOWN! Tonight (well, at 4PM) is the premiere of Flow Productions’ latest immersive performance, NIGHTTOWN. We have had test audiences, we had a pre-premiere, and today the thing kicks off full throttle. The show is a 6-hour performance with 30-minute blocks reserved for each audience of 40 people. All the tickets have been booked in advance, so around 1500 people will have their chance to take a walk in the nocturnal city that is NIGHTTOWN.
The piece is inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses and its chapter 15, Circe. NIGHTTOWN is not an interpretation or a version of Circe, but the chapter’s carnality, hallucinations, ugliness, beauty and considerable humor have inspired the performance.
And since this is part of the Lumo Light Festival’s programming, light has been a special consideration in this piece as well as previous Flow immersions. Enjoy the performances, take in the light design and let the sound carry you into another world of nightly fantasies. Welcome!
