Where to begin?
33 years separate the dream from reality! When I used to walk into the small shopping mall across from the bus stop, coming back from school, and bother the guy at the music store… Back then, the import of instruments was just beginning in Brazil, and that shop imported, by catalog, Tama drum kits and Ibanez guitars. I was 12 years old at the time, and I would spend hours there looking through the catalogs and bugging Max, the shop owner… “One day I’ll come back here to buy one of these…”

The little shop didn’t last long, just like many other businesses in that mall — and in Brazil in general. But the photos of , , , and in the Ibanez catalog left a deep mark on my memory!

A few years later, when drums became my instrument, the music of my heroes from the catalog was my inspiration. “Flying in a Blue Dream,” “Bad Horsie,” and “Pull Me Under” were mandatory in the band’s repertoire, along with songs by Van Halen, Whitesnake, and of course the local heroes Dr. Sin and Angra.

Life goes on, we change our interests, our relationships, the cities or countries where we live, and our dreams adapt to our current reality.

I’ve always liked photography, but I never dreamed of making a living from it — let alone photographing and working with one of those heroes:

Today the dream becomes reality! Photography took me to the “Ibanez catalog,” where I am finally surrounded by my heroes.

WHAT A MONTH!!!!!

When we are teenagers, we have dreams. As the years go by and we grow up, responsibilities take the place of those dreams, and they often become just a memory of “what if”…

But life never ceases to surprise us. Spending the past month touring Europe with KIKO, working as a drum tech for BRUNO, getting to meet FELIPE and joke around, working with Riccardo Cappelli, and meeting ENRICO and PANDA—two of the most amazing Italian dudes I could have ever met and learned from—was nothing short of a teenage dream come true.

What a privilege it was to be part of this crew!!!
It was absolutely amazing!!!
