It's only rock'n'roll photography. But I like it, like it, yes I do. I may have gone digi, but it's still b/w. Well, mostly. But I still won't use colors.

Took my first rock photos at the tender age of 12 and it still turns me on. Switched from black and white film to digi in Nov 2011 and I won't look back. B/W is my thing. And Nikon. I started with F100, then went to D700 and now use D4. I love it.

Black Devils feat Ile Kallio & Janne Louhivuori (Vantaa 11.10.2025)

Mulla oli ilo tehdä jälleen yhteistyötä Black Devilsin kanssa tuoreen kokoelmalevyn (tuplavinyyli - uuh!) ja kirjan tiimoilta. 30 Years in a Hurricane ja 30 Vuotta Hurrikaanin Silmässä.
Black Devilsin kanssa on aina luksusta tehdä hommia, kun kaikki tehdään niin ammattimaisesti. Ripeästi, m***a huolella.

Tämä kuva otettiin Vantaalla, Martinus-salin takahuoneessa viime lokakuisen keikan yhteydessä. Oltiin lämppäämässä Devilsejä Lovematches-duomme kera.
Rumpali JP Kakkola vinkkasi, että otapas tullessasi kamera mukaan, niin otetaan siinä samalla uudet promokuvat. Otin völjyyn taustafondin, salamat ja vehkeet ja pystytin bäkkärille pikaisen studion. Eipä noissa kuvissa taas kauaa nokka tuhissut.
Prima vistan miehiä.

Kuvassa oli vahvana esikuvana legendaarinen Intron Hurriganes-jättijuliste. Foto päätyi Emsalö Musicin julkaiseman kokoelmalevyn takakanteen.

For some strange reason I haven't seen John Lindberg Trio before. He's been in Finland dozens of times over the years, but I've always missed it. Won't do that anymore.
What a band! What a front man! What a show! Plus a a good set of excellent songs. Food for ears and eyes. What more could you want?

A fellow photographer (and one that I really dig) Roger Johansson has been shooting JLT for years and now I know why. John and the whole band is whole lotta fun to shoot. They reminded me how great this rock'n'roll photographing could be at its best. And the next time I won't miss that jump!
