Tänään retkeillessäni Utön naapurisaaressa Ormskärillä kuulin korkealta taivaalta äänen, jonka heti tunnistin mehiläissyöjän ääneksi. Kesti pari minuuttia, ennen kuin löysin vastavalossa korkealla kaartelevan linnun. Onneksi lintu päätti laskeutua saareen ruokailemaan. Yllättäin tällä kertaa kamera oli jäänyt matkasta. Kävin sen pääsaaresta hakemassa ja sain lopulta myös kohtuulliset kuvat linnusta.

Today I found a European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster), which is a rare bird in Finland.
