Beautiful place in Finland where I spent 2 nights this summer. Pure wilderness and great photography opportunities!

Kilpisjärvi is a remote place in Finnish Lapland, at the border with Sweden and Norway and it just might be the most beautiful place in Finland I have seen so far! With lots of reindeers and scenic hiking trails, Kilpisjärvi was a a great wild destination for our summer road trip.

My photograph "Early Bird" has been commended in the "Bird Photographer of the Year" competition 2019, in the "Garden and Urban Birds" category! I have also been informed that the picture will feature in the BPOTY 2019 book. It's funny that after all the travelling, the picture that was chosen is from my own backyard :) This proves that sometimes the best things are very close to us, but we just take them for granted!
