Selam, I will be sharing with you some photos I did for 's "Around the world in 80 Plays" Campaign.
To me play means doing the thing that deeply gives you pleasure and fully relaxes your mind body and soul. In my culture most play is done in numbers / gatherings with people you enjoy.
The first time I rode a horse was around 10 years ago on my yearly "Meskel" festival trip to the south of Ethiopia, one of the rural parts of the country where horses outnumber cars. Riding a horse for the first time is one of those feelings you can't shake off that easily or mask with any other man-made contraption. At this moment, I understood that horses were more to man than just a means of transportation.
Horses are still a huge part of Ethiopia’s society but not in the Addis. It’s not every day that you see young people riding horses in Addis. That is why when I found these youngsters playing, I had to capture them.
I used Adobe Photoshop for mobile to edit these photos because it supports my raw images and the color mix tool is great to grade my colors. And last but not least, I love the photo organizing capabilities of the app.
I would love to see what play looks like where you are from. Please use the hashtag . @ Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
