🇪🇹 Ethiopia’s Unique Landscape.
Ethiopia’s dramatic landforms were shaped by powerful tectonic and volcanic activity during the Cenozoic Era. The country features an impressive mix of highlands, plateaus, rugged mountains, deep river gorges, and lowland plains.
⛰️ Elevation ranges from 116 meters below sea level at the Dallol Depression to 4,620 meters above sea level at Ras Dashen, the nation’s highest peak.
About 56% of Ethiopia lies above 1,000 meters, earning it the nickname “Roof of Eastern Africa.” The elevated plateau is split diagonally by the Great Rift Valley, a massive geological system stretching from Syria to Mozambique across East Africa.
🌍 A land of altitude, diversity, and striking natural contrasts.🇪🇹👌
