Carmencita Film Lab is an independent photographic film developing company. Our team is formed by a small group of professionals, in love with photography, and with photographic film in particular. We know there are more people like us, who know how hard it is to find a lab where negatives are treated with the right accuracy, care and dedication. That's why we decided to turn our passion into our

job, and open our doors to the professionals out there looking for the right place to develop and scan their film negatives. That's why we dedicate ourselves completely to each job, ensuring that our service is personalized and our product perfect. Our little treasure is called the SP3000 Fuji Frontier, known among professionals as the best scanner for film negatives. That's how we work in our lab; the machine delivers technical perfection and we human knowledge and passion. We would be delighted to receive your film and to start working on getting the tones and touch you are seeking.

🛹 Bogotá Skate Day, por Andrés Ríos.

‘My name is Andrés Ríos Fierro. I am from Bogotá, Colombia. In 2017, I was working as a bike messenger in New York. My natural reaction to the city was to start taking photos of the things that caught my eye. (...) I then moved back to Colombia in 2018, and I started taking photos on the street there too. A place that I thought was so familiar to me, I all of the sudden saw differently. It was in this moment that I began to realize how photography was beginning to change my perception and the way I see and interact with the world.’ 🗒️ Excerpts from his interview with UP. If you’re not familiar with Andrés Ríos, prepare to be stunned. Go look at his page!

Happy World Photography Day! 📸 Back in 2012, we created the place we would love to send our negatives to, not just for the quality, but also for personal connection and involvement throughout the process. Today, we are honored to celebrate film photography with you all.

Photography is intrinsically tied to our daily lives, both inside and outside the lab. That’s why we wanted to share with you some of our personal favorites ツ. In this post, you’ll see images taken by our crew from Lisboa, València, Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris. This is what we see! ➡️

Portraiture and double exposures by .photograph Emma Helena.

‘Emma Helena is a multidisciplinary artist from the Netherlands with a big passion for self-portraits, film photography, and the small details in life.

She started as a photographer, and although nowadays she spends 75 percent of her time being photographed by other photographers, she will never stop taking photos and sharing her own vision of her reality.

Last year she published her first book containing +5 years of her work. Resulting in a hardcover book, carrying a carefully curated selection of over 100 self-portraits on film.

Her biggest inspiration at the moment is her double-exposure project. How do humans and nature connect or get disconnected? We are nature; we are just so detached from it. Most of these pictures were made during a very special week where 17 models from all over the world came together on the island of Madeira.
All of them beautiful, inside and out. This was a magical, healing experience, and working on a series was never so easy!

A week of harmony, nature, authenticity, creativity and connection. Everything done and created with love and care ❤️’.
