A few years ago, I photographed Govinda / Dahi Handi in Mumbai, and I couldn’t help thinking of the castellers of Catalonia.
Two very different traditions, two distant cultures, and the same basic idea: for one person to rise, many others have to support them.
In Govinda, everything happens amid water, shouting, vertigo, and chaos; with the castellers, the construction feels more precise and ritualized. But when you get close with a camera, the essence is the same: trust, collective effort, and many bodies supporting one.
Mumbai reminded me that sometimes the most distant cultures meet in a very simple gesture: supporting one another.

Nothing inspires me more than painting as a way to dive into mystery—the mystery of color, composition, volume, and the illusion of light and depth.

In Milan: the Pinacoteca di Brera, Castello Sforzesco, and the Cenacolo Vinciano.

In Milan, the sidewalks are paved with asphalt. Nothing really distinguishes them from the roadway except that they are slightly raised and edged with stone. A few days ago, I was walking along one of them in the full sun, searching for shade, when I suddenly came across this delightful scene.
Against the uniform gray of the street—a seamless blend of roadway and sidewalk—there were splashes of color that, as I got closer, revealed themselves to be a series of brightly colored paper boats floating in a puddle of water. My first thought was that a child had left them behind after finishing a game. But no. As I was photographing my discovery, a man suddenly appeared out of nowhere, smiling as if looking for a knowing accomplice.
That was when I realized he was the creator of this innocent, poetic installation: his own Strait of Hormuz, filled with motionless boats, free of mines and threats.

On a day marked by a grand opening, massive crowds, and worldwide media attention, I’d like to share a more intimate vision of the Basilica of the Sagrada Família, which I had the privilege of photographing a few years ago. Reflections, shadows, and colors come together to create a truly mystical atmosphere.

I’m sharing another selection of images from a black-and-white project shot entirely in Galicia that, for political and technical reasons, was never released. The idea was to photograph natural landscapes in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain, in such a way that they always converged toward a hypnotic central point, forming a subtle geometry that would unify and give meaning to the entire series.

From this past weekend, when the fog wraps around you and you lose all sense of reference. There’s no horizon, no direction, no color—just the white of the snow blending into the clouds, and your companions’ nervous smiles.
