Fotógrafa I am a photographer and visual artist based in Seville, Spain. I was born in Seville but at the age of four, my parents emigrated to Sydney, Australia.

I specialize in Portrait, Lifestyle and Event photography and teach workshops to both children and adults. From a very young age, art was a window through which I saw the world and was taught to communicate. I feel that having grown up with two different cultures and always existing between two worlds is an underlying influence in my work. There is always an emotive, dream-like quality to it and a

sense of melancholy and calmness. My work centers around the themes of identity and memory and a large part of my influences come from nature and my inner world. Double exposures are very present in my work, as I like the idea that nothing is ever as it seems. I studied English Literature, was a flamenco dancer and a teacher for many years but I have always had a passionate relationship with photography. In 2020 I decided to enter the profession and after being awarded the annual Cobertura Photo scholarship, my work has been exhibited in places like the Hybrid Art Fair in Madrid and I have had various exhibitions in Seville for my work on “Invisibles” and “Wonderland”. This year, I have had the pleasure of winning an honorable mention in the 21st Julia Margaret Cameron Awards in the category of professional portrait. I am currently working on “ De Lunares y Plata” a series on female flamenco dancers.

Tomorrow I’ll be in Łódź, Poland, exhibiting work from Mar de Algas Fotofestiwal Łódź as part of alongside a group of incredible artists.

This image started as an anthotype made using pigment extracted from Rugulopteryx okamurae and was later scanned and subtly altered digitally. Working with anthotypes has taught me a lot. They’re fragile, unpredictable and temporary, and much of the process involved finding ways to work with those qualities rather than against them.

Mar de Algas is a project that thinks about environmental change, shifting coastlines, and the stories we tell about belonging, heritage and transformation.

I’m feeling very grateful for this opportunity and for everything I’ve learned throughout this experience. It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and I’m excited to share a piece of the work and spend the next few days with such inspiring artists in the festival!

Next week I’ll be at Fotofestiwal Fotofestiwal Łódź in Łódź as part of the programme, showing work alongside 11 incredible artists.

Mar De Algas is an ongoing project about an algae called Rugulopteryx Okamurae and I’m excited to share its first tangible form and to present the beginning of this journey at such a fantastic festival.

Y así termina Valencina Visual.

Han sido meses de encuentros, conversaciones, revisiones, preguntas, ideas que cambiaban de forma y proyectos que poco a poco iban encontrando su lugar.

Quiero dar las gracias al Área de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Valencina de la Concepción por hacer posible este proyecto y por apostar por un espacio dedicado a la fotografía y las artes visuales contemporáneas.

También a las ocho personas que han formado parte de esta edición. Ha sido un regalo acompañar vuestros procesos, ver cómo cada proyecto crecía a su ritmo y compartir tantas miradas distintas sobre el mundo.

Hay algo de este proyecto que tiene mucho que ver con la fotógrafa que fui cuando empecé. Recuerdo sentirme bastante desorientada, sin saber muy bien cómo desarrollar un trabajo personal, cómo sostenerlo en el tiempo o hacia dónde llevarlo después. Por eso, poder contribuir ahora a que otras personas encuentren un espacio de acompañamiento, diálogo y crecimiento tiene un significado especial para mí.

Más allá de la exposición final, me quedo con todo lo que no siempre se ve: la confianza, las conversaciones compartidas, los ratos juntos en la busqueda, los descubrimientos y la comunidad que se ha creado durante estos meses.

Ojalá sigamos generando espacios para que la creación emergente tenga lugar, tiempo y apoyo. Porque la cultura también se construye así: acompañando procesos y creando oportunidades para que sucedan.

Valencina Visual nace como un espacio de acompañamiento, creación y pensamiento en torno a la fotografía y las artes visuales.

Durante los últimos seis meses, ocho artistas han desarrollado sus proyectos en diálogo con el territorio y la comunidad, compartiendo procesos, dudas y hallazgos. El resultado no es solo una exposición, sino una muestra viva de trabajos en evolución.

Este proyecto, organizado para el área de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Valencina de la Concepción, ha sido para mí una experiencia profundamente enriquecedora como fotógrafa y mentora.

Os invito a acompañarnos en la inauguración el próximo 5 de junio a las 21:00h, donde presentaremos una selección de estos procesos y piezas.

Gracias a todas las personas que lo han hecho posible, especialmente a lxs artistas participantes por su entrega y sensibilidad.

Impartí un taller de antotipia el sábado pasado en .

Es muy interesante ver cómo cada persona se acerca al proceso de una manera distinta, y es bonito observar ese cambio cuando empiezan a confiar en lo que están haciendo.

Trabajar con antotipias devuelve la práctica fotográfica a algo más físico y tangible, y me encanta poder compartir eso con otras personas, ver cómo se inspiran y se van con una sensación de renovación y de logro.✨

Un agradecimiento especial a Javi por acoger y ayudar a organizar el taller. 🫶🏻
